Exploring Belfast

Belfast City Hall and Continental Market in the rain.

Because today was a bank holiday in Northern Ireland we did not have any formal tours or events scheduled. Students took advantage of the free day to explore Northern Ireland's main city on their own. Common destinations included Belfast Castle and the city centre, where the Continental Market was underway on the grounds of City Hall. A number of us enjoyed a literary walking tour in the city centre this evening. Many of the students had opportunities to interact with the locals and to hear a bit about their perspectives on their hometown and the events of the recent past.
